Es la capital del cant\u00f3n de Huaquillas.<\/p><p>Huaquillas se ubica en el l\u00edmite con Per\u00fa. Un puente internacional que se extiende sobre el r\u00edo Zarumilla conecta este pueblo con el distrito peruano de Aguas Verdes. Ambos pueblos tienen un intenso movimiento comercial tanto en establecimiento formales como mediante vendedores ambulantes.
